Volunteer Programs

Aging and Community Services Volunteer Breakfast

Volunteers are the backbone of many nonprofit organizations. Without them we would be severely limited in our impact on the community. Our volunteer program offers extensive training for volunteers to enhance the lives of Cumberland County Citizens.  

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please complete an application, and return it by email or mail to the address below.

Volunteer Opportunities


Home Delivered Meal Program Drivers:  Volunteers deliver meals once a week to consumers who have difficulty leaving their homes to obtain food.

Volunteer Ombudsman Program:
  Volunteers provide "resident directed" advocacy for residents of Long-Term Care Facilities.  Click here for more information.

Support to Care Management Staff:
  Volunteers assist with clerical duties.

Assist Consumers with Completing Forms:
  Volunteers schedule appointments to assist consumers in completing applications for benefits and assistance.  Click here for more information.

PA MEDI (Insurance Program)
:  Trained volunteers offer free Medicare counseling to older Pennsylvanians.  Click here for more information.

Advisory Board
Member (Three-year term):  The Cumberland County Aging & Community Services receives advice from a board of private citizens.  The Advisory Board meetings are held at our office on the 3rd Friday of the month from 12:30 - 2.  It is a benefit if you are over 60 but it is not a requirement.  Click here for an application.
