Requesting a Letter of Consistency/Support
The Cumberland County Planning Department issues letters of consistency or support for projects that are consistent with the Cumberland Principles established in the 2024 Cumberland County Comprehensive Plan. The eight principles are provided below for reference and more detailed information on each prnciple can be found here:

- Expand Transportation Choices
- Adapt and Stay Safe
- Open for Business
- Engage to Improve
Please complete this application and upload a draft letter with your request. The draft should specifically cite how the proposed project is consistent with applicable Cumberland Principles. Letters will be returned within 3 business cays. Please contact the Planning Department for questions or if your letter has not been processed within 3 business days.
