Mission
To provide tax administration service to the residents and taxpayers of Cumberland County efficiently and cost effectively to ensure precise mapping services, accurate and fair assessment practices, administrative and customer service support, and balanced tax claim services.
Assessment Responsibilities
- To identify and assign fair and equitable assessments to all real property.
- The Assessment Office must maintain and make available records associated with assessment administration.
- It is our intent to provide you with the latest and most accurate information pertaining to the County’s assessment activities.
Mapping Responsibilities
- Maintain current ownership of property through documents from the Recorder of Deeds Office.
- Review documents to update ownership records (MIC cards)
- Make changes to the Digital Parcel Layer as necessary.
- UPI certified on all conveyances of real estate, plans, mortgages of real estate and any other instrument affecting real estate in Cumberland County, other than a Will, a General Power of Attorney, or a Deed of Dedication to a municipality for a road.
Tax Claim Bureau Responsibilities
- Collection of all delinquent real property taxes on behalf of the county and various municipalities and school districts within Cumberland County
- To collect Rollback Taxes incurred through Act 319 of Pennsylvania State Legislature, commonly known as the “Clean and Green” program.
