Cumberland County CASA offers flexible and challenging internships to students of local colleges.
Among other things, interns may:
observe dependency court hearings to learn how the Court interacts with the child welfare system
develop an appreciation for the impact CASA volunteers have on the Court and the child welfare system
gain insight into the issues confronting children who experience abuse and/or neglect
expand their understanding of the importance of confidentiality
participate in CASA volunteer training
learn volunteer coaching skills
practice administrative responsibilities
Internships may be customized to the student's area of interest, such as public relations, social administration, or policy studies. If interested in pursuing an internship through the CASA Program, please contact the CASA office for information on how to apply.
