Please read the following tutorial regarding e-filing changes pursuant to the UJS Public Access Policy beginning January 6, 2018. 
 
As of January 6, 2018 a certification shall accompany each filing in accordance with the UJS Public Access Policy.  A court or custodian is not required to review any filed document for compliance with this policy.  Failure to comply may lead to sanctions being imposed. 
 
The Cumberland County Prothonotary now supports the electronic filing of all Civil and Domestic Documents through OnBase eFiling.

Only Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers are supported. Please ensure you are using a supported browser.

Registration

  1. Go to https://onbaseweb.ccpa.net/efiling;
  2. Click "Register for E-Filing Now";
  3. Fill in the fields with the correct information;
  4. Click "Register".

Filing

If you would like to have your filing served by the Sheriff’s Office, please include a completed Sheriff Service Form as page 1 when uploading your documents, and forward payment directly to the Sheriff’s Office. Failure to do so will result in a delay in service.

  1. Sign in with your username and password;
  2. Click on "Create Filing";
  3. For an initial filing:
    1. Select the radio button next to "Initial Filing";
    2. Enter the filing type in the field for "Type";
      1. A list of suggestions will automatically populate;
      2. Click the entry you wish to file;
    3. Click "Next";
    4. Proceed through the next several screens selecting or entering the appropriate information for your case;
      1. Under the "General" tab, enter any additional information you wish to convey to the Prothonotary; this field is optional;
      2. Under the "Case Classification" tab, enter the information as you would on the AOPC coversheet;
      3. Under the "Plaintiffs" tab, click "Add" to add the plaintiff's information;
      4. Under the "Defendants" tab, click "Add to add the defendant's information;
      5. Under the "Attachments" tab, upload the documents you wish to submit to the Court;
        1. Drag a document from a folder on your computer into the "Drop Files Here" Box, or click the box to browse your computer and select the file you wish to upload from your computer's hard drive;
        2. Note: all documents must be uploaded in PDF format;
        3. Next to the thumb nail of your document, select a security type:
          1. For "Public" no additional steps are required;
          2. For "Public w/ Confidential Information form":
            1.  Add your confidential information form by dropping it into the "Drop Files Here Box" or clicking the box to browse your computer and select a document
            2. In the "Select related attachment" drop down menu, select the name of the file of your confidential information form
          3. For "Confidential Document":
            1. Select the type of document you are filing from the "Select type of confidentiality" drop down menu;
            2. Type a reference for the document (e.g. "Main document"; Exhibit X; Page X, etc).
            3. The system will generate the confidential document form based on your specifications.
        4. Check the "Yes" box to confirm that you have uploaded all of your documents and that they comply with the UJS Public Access Policy. 
      6. Click "Finish";
      7. You will be directed to your shopping cart screen;
      8. At this point, if you have additional filings, you can click "Create Another Filing" to return to the first screen to enter your next filing;
      9. Once you have entered all of your filings, click "Proceed to Checkout" on the shopping cart screen;
      10. Enter your payment information;
      11. Click "Continue".
          
  4. For subsequent filings:
    1. Click the radio button next to "Subsequent Filing";
    2. Enter the case number of your case, or select a case from your shopping cart;
    3. Click "Submit Case";
    4. Enter the filing type in the field for "Type";
      1. A list of suggestions will automatically populate;
      2. Click the entry you wish to file;
      3. Click "Next";
    5. Proceed through the next several screens selecting or entering the appropriate information for your case;
      1. Under the "General" tab, enter any additional information you wish to convey to the Prothonotary; this field is optional;

      9. Once you have entered all of your filings, click "Proceed to Checkout" on the shopping cart screen
      10. Enter your payment information
      11. Click "Continue".

You will receive email confirmation that your document has been received.  The Prothonotary's Office will then either accept or reject the filing.  Rejected filings may be resubmitted with corrections.
