A Protection from Intimidation (PFI) is a court order that prohibits adult offenders from intimidating (harassing and stalking) minor victims who are not in a relationship with the offender.
What Protection Can a PFI Provide?
A PFI can direct the adult offender to:
- Refrain from intimidating, harassing, or stalking the minor
- Have no contact with the minor
- Refrain from entering the minor's residence, place of employment, business, or school
Who Can File For a PFI?
- Minors (under 18) who are being harassed or stalked by someone 18 or older. An adult (like a parent or guardian) must file the PFI for the minor.
PFIs cannot be filed if both the victim and the abuser are minors or adults, or if a minor is harassing an adult.
How to File
A PFI can be filed by calling the YWCA Carlisle and Cumberland County YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County at 1.888.727.2877
