Mission
The mission of the Cumberland County Children & Youth Services (CYS) is to provide professional social services in order to: protect the safety and welfare of children; preserve, support, and strengthen the family; and identify alternative care, a safe environment, and a permanent home for those children unable to remain in their home.
Services
Intake Services
Screening of all new referrals, investigating child abuse and neglect, providing family assessments, helping families locate and gain access to community services.
In-Home Services
Assisting families with parenting issues, coordinating ongoing community services, referring families to other appropriate resources.
Placement Services
Providing services to families and children by temporarily placing the children outside their homes in kinship, foster or group care facilities. These services are provided to assist children to return to their own homes or to establish a permanent plan for the child.
