It is a privilege for the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month and the individuals living with mental illness in the community, their families, and those who provide services and supports to our citizens. We acknowledge the contributions of all individuals whose dedicated efforts provide opportunities for integrated community life.
Mental Health Awareness Month brings together the community by focusing on individual strengths, dreams, and what can be accomplished when a community joins together. All parts of individuals - work, friends, education, recreation, spirituality, family, health, and wellness - are a focus of recovery and we celebrate personal recovery and individual growth.
