2010 Reassessment
Property values have changed an average of over 30% since the County’s 2004 Reassessment. However, not all properties and property types have appreciated at the same rate. As a result, the property tax system used by municipalities, school districts, and the County has lost its basis in market values - and thus its fairness.
The intent of the 2010 Reassessment is to restore equity to the real estate tax system by revaluing all properties in the County at once, as prescribed by Pennsylvania law. We offer these resources to assist your understanding of the process and impact of the 2010 reassessment.
