HAMPDEN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Cumberland County commissioners officially opened Orrs Bridge.
The newly constructed bridge carries nearly 10,000 vehicles per day, the most of the county's 28 newly constructed bridges.
"This bridge is a major link connecting our dense residential neighborhoods with employment and services on the Carlisle Pike and the Wertzville Road, so this is going to be a very welcome addition to your community, I'm sure," Commissioner Gary Eichelberger said.
In total, the bridge cost more than $7.9 million, with 80 percent of the funding coming from the federal government.
