The commissioners sent a letter last week to the state’s recovery coordinator asserting that, among other measures, Harrisburg’s fiscal plan “should most definitely include the city’s prompt acceptance and action, by the mayor, city council, and via its representatives on the CAT board, in full support of expediting and implementing transit agency administrative consolidation without further delay.”
For the past several years, Cumberland County has pushed for a merger of CAT, the public bus service jointly controlled by Cumberland and Dauphin counties, and the City of Harrisburg, with another transit provider to lower costs.
