Silver Spring Township continued to see the highest levels of residential development in Cumberland County in 2017, while Carlisle continued to see the highest rate of commercial growth, according to the county’s trends report.
The Cumberland County Planning Commission released its 2017 growth trends data report on Friday, indicating that Silver Spring Township saw 238 residential building permits, followed by Hampden Township with 165.
“Silver Spring and Hampden Townships have been our top two fastest growing municipalities for the past 10 years,” Jeff Kelly, assistant director with the Cumberland County Planning Department, said in a release.
