Two Overnight Road Closures Scheduled on Route 11 “Carlisle Pike” to Remove Overhead Sign Structures

Harrisburg, PA – Weather permitting, an operation to set up a crane and remove two overhead sign structures that span Route 11 in Hampden and Silver Spring townships, Cumberland County, will require the overnight closure of Route 11 from midnight to 7 a.m. on two separate nights. This portion of Route 11 is known locally as the Carlisle Pike. The work will be performed for PennDOT by a private contractor -- J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Pennsylvania.
The first road closure on Route 11 will be on Sunday night, August 27, just west of Skyport Road in Hampden Township. Traffic will be detoured between midnight and 7 a.m. on Monday, August 28, by way of Route 581, Interstate 81, and Route 114.
The second closure will be on Sunday, September 10, just west of Kost Road in Silver Spring Township. Traffic will be detoured by way of Route 114 and I-81.
