Cumberland County Seeks Elected Officials for Agriculture Land Preservation Board

Carlisle, PA – The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners and Agricultural Land Preservation Board is looking for municipal, township or borough elected officials to serve its Agricultural Land Preservation Board. Board members are responsible for overseeing the administration of the Cumberland County Agricultural Conservation Easement (Farmland Preservation) Program.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be an elected official of a township or borough
- Must be a Cumberland County resident and have a strong interest in agriculture.
- Candidates must be available the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. for board meetings.
- Selected candidates will serve a three-year term starting in early 2022. This is an unpaid, voluntary position.
Interested candidates should send a resume and letter of interest to the Cumberland County Agricultural Land Preservation Board, by Monday, February 7, 2022, including experience in agriculture and interest in serving on the Agricultural Land Preservation Board. Prospective applicants may be asked to attend a board meeting or participate in an interview.
